At your suggestion I used the link to urge Kingston to get input before passing a law; but it was difficult to reach the correct website. Perhaps you could provide a different, direct link.

Brilliant work but vehicle laws will always hurt the poor; they can’t afford safety. But society must protect its members. Better drafted laws certainly; no enforcement by police makes any good law worthless

As an adult, I still ride, in part, for the sense of freedom and joy. E.g. I have excellent balance. When the roadway is clear, I ride no-handed. I had no idea this was considered illegal. Exactly who would I be endangering except myself? In all my years of riding I've never had an accident as a result of riding no-handed. But I've been hit by a car and a bus and had my hands on my handlebars at the time. So who is dangerous on the road – – car drivers, not cyclists. As for jids, they need the opportunity to ride for fun as well as transportation. And I agree, in an urban atea, the streets are there "playground". If you don't give them other places to ride recreationally, the streets are their only option. Don't ticket them for "wheelies"

Ooooo this is great! But what idiots are on the Council?

.A.No user, operator, or agent thereof shall park a bicycle or electric mobility device on the private property of another without permission.

Malls and all the parking around malls and the roads going up to malls etc - all private property. Stores - private property as you pointed out.

F. No person shall operate a bicycle while using a mobile telephone or a portable electronic device.

E bikes are equipped w mobile/portable electronic devices that are needed to operate the bike - are we going to ban ebikes?

L. No person shall operate a bicycle at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions and having regard to the actual and potential hazards then existing.

This is more restrictive than is expected of cars. We can expect bicyclists to obey the traffic speed signs just like the cars. And - there is already legislation keeping e bikes at top speed 20 mph

I just can't believe that they would want to stop people from parking their bikes so that they can use the bus. The Council would probably benefit from photos of the bus stops to clarify for folks.

Are there any people on the Council who ride bikes or use public transport? Yikes.

Super love whammy to you!
